This treatment can be used to dissolve old filler in preparation for a new treatment, or in the case of filler migration or nodules.
The Results:
Hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers can be dissolved with a product called Hyalenex® (hyaluronidase). It functions by breaking down the bonds of HA, speeding up the body’s natural process. The injected filler will begin to soften and break down almost instantly.
The Process:
Hyaluronidase is injected into the areas that need to be dissolved. You may experience a slight stinging sensation. The fluid will cause swelling to the area injected but should be gone in 4-6 hours. The product starts working immediately and will continue to dissolve filler over the next 2 - 3 days. You'll need to wait 7-10 days before getting filler in that area.
